European Battery Directive

Directive n°2006/66/EC

The European Battery Directive 2066/66 /EC specifies in Article 28 that “As regards producer responsibility, producers of batteries and accumulators and producers of other products incorporating a battery or accumulator are responsible for the waste management of batteries and accumulators that they place on the market”. To that extent we inform our customers of the available means to recycle their used batteries. You may either return them, or put them in a battery recycling bin present in the following locations:

  • supermarkets;
  • stores that sell batteries (watch and jewelry stores, photographers, tobacco shops);
  • waste collection;
  • pharmacies;
  • town halls.

Please be aware of the following:

  • The symbol of the bin on the product or their respective packaging indicates that electrical and electronic equipment should not be thrown in the trash because they contain substances that may be harmful to the environment and health.
  • When the Hg, Cd, and Pb symbols are shown, it means that the battery contains more mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), or lead (Pb) than the value specified in Directive 2006/66/EC on batteries and accumulators. The black bar indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13 August 2005.
